Education Should Be Free Neon

This is a neon Andrea Bowers artwork that went through a lot of collaboration and iterations, including versions by Julieta Gil, another designer who works with Andrea’s studio. When it came back to me, I incorporated some of Julieta’s elements and ended up with the final design below. I had a lot of fun with the minute details of the neon fill lines, which were beautifully fabricated by Lite Brite Neon. The artwork was installed at UC Davis Manetti Shrem Museum. Like the piece says, education should be free.
